Today, I have a short video to talk to you about Phyllotaxis<\/strong>. So, what is Phyllotaxis? It is simply the arrangement of leaves on the stem. It is surprising to see how regular and strictly mathematical this is. The leaves are never placed on the stem randomly.<\/p>\n
Cannabis leaves are generally opposite from the QC<\/strong>, but they may be alternate from a young age or when you take cuttings. It may be the geographical situation of the ancestors of the variety that influences the type of Phyllotaxis. However, the problem is that there are few studies on the subject. Online, we find only simple amateur tests that do not advance anything.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, a phenomenon has been noticed when plants with an opposite decorative structure flower. It is not uncommon to see their structure become alternate. So, is it a defense mechanism to prevent having the buds too close together and thus avoid mold? Or, is it due to the change in light intensity and the number of hours of sunlight per day? Or, is it the genes of the ancestors of the variety that influence Phyllotaxis?<\/p>\n
Well, I don\u2019t know, and I haven\u2019t found an answer to this question. But today, we are going to talk about a different form of Phyllotaxis: spiral Phyllotaxis<\/strong> or whorled Phyllotaxis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
Spiral Phyllotaxis is another common form of mutation. Instead of having two leaves on one level, you will have three, resulting in three branches. This mutation can appear on a single level as well as throughout the entire plant, and it can disappear as quickly as it appeared.<\/p>\n
Many growers appreciate this morphological trait because it results in much more productive plants. Some even believe that this type of plant produces more potent flowers, although this last point remains to be proven.<\/p>\n
Spiral or whorled Phyllotaxis is thought to be due to an abnormally high rate of plant hormones in the meristem, partly auxins, which are responsible for cell division.<\/p>\n
