Although there are different methods to eliminate ethanol or to isolate cannabis extracts and components, the most commonly used today for its results is the one that works with rotary evaporation.

With this device you will be able to evaporate components with a low boiling point at normal pressure or vacuum.

When a certain temperature is applied to a fluid it evaporates, with this evaporator you will remove all volatile fluids until a dry product is obtained in the flask at the end of the process.

Operation of the rotary evaporator

Typically, the distillation flask is filled to 50% of the volume. The water bath heats up to 30 to 40 degrees Celsius. The condenser temperature, controlled by a recirculation cooler, is set to -10 °C to 0 °C. Once the water bath and condenser have reached the set points, the distillation flask rotates from 150 to 200 rpm.

Depending on your objective you will have to adjust the temperature, for example to remove ethanol it is recommended to set the vacuum to achieve a steam temperature of 15 to 20 ° C.
