This video demonstrates a simple homemade method for trimming and drying cannabis plants, guiding viewers through the process step by step for optimal results.
Hey friends, welcome to Pevgrow. Today, I have a short video to show how to trim my cannabis plants for drying. So, let’s get started!
I have a little lady next to me. To start, we’re going to leave them for 10 days before we cut them, watering them only with water. Why? This way, it will probably absorb all the remaining nutrients, and we won’t have an aftertaste.
We can also strip them, removing the larger leaves and peeling off the yellow ones. There are growers who don’t recommend it, saying it doesn’t work as well. I’ve tried this method, and as you can see, it works pretty well for me. I like it, so I use it.
Once that’s done, we’re going to start by cutting the branches. Before we hang them in our homemade closet to dry our cannabis plants, which we’ve already shown you how to make in another video, we’re going to continue cleaning the buds a bit more.
Having said that, I’m going to start cutting. We’ll use scissors like these, which we have on our website. It’s very simple; we take it here, and there we go! What are we going to do with the cannabis leaves that we cut? We’ll put them in the freezer for 24 hours and use them to make a nice little tea, or we can also use them with the Shaker Hatcher to make high-quality pollen.
Well, our plant is cut. Now, before moving to the tent, we’re going to clean the buds a bit more, and then we’ll hang them in our closet.
Alright, friends, we’ve cut our plants and cleaned our buds a bit more. Now we’re going to move on to hanging them up with our first homemade closet. I don’t know if you remember, but I already made a video showing you how to make a homemade closet to dry our cannabis plants, and well, we’re going to use it!
Here we go to pick it up. I hope it holds. And there it is—a little cabinet! Now we just have to wait about 10 to 15 days for them to dry properly, so we can really enjoy them. How will we know that they are optimally dried? It’s simple! When we take the stem and twist it, it should break, and we should be able to hear the stem breaking properly.
We’re also going to check on it every 3-4 days to ensure it hasn’t absorbed any moisture, as that could create mold in our buds. We’ll keep it in a dark, cool place that is well-ventilated.
As I said, in 15-22 days, we will enjoy our precious buds!
Alright friends, this video is coming to an end, so we’re going to close our little cabinet. There we go! We’re going to let our plants dry peacefully. There you go!
