Hey friends, and welcome to Pevgrow! Today we’re here to create another base for our cooking. We’re going to make cannabis-infused coconut oil.

So, why use coconut oil in your dishes? Simply because it’s really good for your health. It’s much better than olive oil or butter! Coconut oil has benefits for the heart and brain, and it contains several vitamins, such as Vitamin E, which is an antioxidant.

Next, coconut oil is widely used in cosmetics. It makes a perfect treatment for your hair, or it can be used as a moisturizer or lip balm. Quite simply, there are really 1,001 ways to use this coconut oil!

To do this, you’ll just need:

  • Coconut oil
  • Several grams of cannabis

For this recipe, I used Amnesia Lemon, which has a slight lemony taste that will pair perfectly with the coconut.

You’ll also need:

  • A grinder
  • A container to put in the oven
  • Aluminum foil

So, first, you need to melt your coconut oil. As you know, coconut oil is solid; it liquefies at around 24 to 25 degrees Celsius. To do this, it’s really quite simple and straightforward!

Take a suitable container, preferably one that can withstand heat, and fill it with hot water, ensuring the temperature is just right—not boiling, but hot enough. Then, just let your jar of coconut oil soak in this hot water bath until it gradually melts completely, turning from solid to liquid form.

In the meantime, we’re going to grind our cannabis. For this recipe, I’m going to need just two grams. So let’s get started!

Now that our coconut oil is partially liquid and the cannabis has been ground, all that’s left to do is mix them together. We need to maintain a temperature of 85 degrees Celsius for 4 1/2 hours. It’s during this time that the cannabis will decarboxylate and the THC will activate. I’ll leave you the link to the video I made on this topic in the description.

Now that the cannabis has had enough time to infuse well and the THC has properly soaked into the coconut oil, we need to take it out and strain it. To strain it, you can use:

  • A piece of cloth
  • A paper towel
  • A coffee filter

And there you go! Your cannabis coconut oil is ready. All you have to do now is let it cool so it returns to its solid form.
