And hello, Growers. Today, a short video to talk to you about the Gelato strain. The Gelato seeds are the result of excellent work by Mario Guzman, better known as Sherbinski. This breeder was a member of the Cookie Collective from the San Francisco Bay, and it is this Collective that created the Girl Scout Cookie.

At that time, young Sherbinski, while still an inexperienced breeder, decided to work on the genetics of Girl Scout Cookie right next to his Pink Panties. However, due to a lack of attention to the males, the females ruined all of his crops. Nevertheless, he took advantage of his mistake and decided to experiment with his new seeds, thus obtaining a strain with characteristics and citrus flavors that reminded him of an ice cream called Rainbow Sherbert that he could get near his home in the Sunset neighborhood.

By mixing the names, Sherbinski decided to call his new creation Sunset Sherbet. Later, with a bit more experience and the help of genetic selection, he made a new cross of the Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie phenotype and the Sunset Sherbet, resulting in the famous Gelato.

Today, Gelato is a feminized hybrid with 60% Indica and 40% Sativa. This plant is very productive and easy to grow, both indoors and outdoors. Its flowering periods are considerably short, about 8 to 9 weeks. Gelato stands out for its unique and distinctive citrus flavors and aromas.
