In this video, we introduce the new Solux Pro Far Red 730 nm bulb, discussing its benefits for enhancing cannabis cultivation by simulating shade and promoting various growth functions.
Hello Groovers,
Today, we have a short video to introduce you to the new LED available on our website: the Solux Pro Far Red 730 nm bulb. Do you want to extend or improve the light in your cultivation? This bulb, with only 7 watts, is an ideal option as it offers a spectrum of 730 nm, which is perfect for enhancing the darkness in cannabis crops.
Now, I will talk to you about the effect of the 730 nm spectrum on cannabis plants. Its main effect is to simulate shade for your plants. It should be noted that red light primarily affects phytochrome, depending on the frequency of light absorbed. One form is called P_R, which responds to clear red light, and the other is called P_FR, which responds to far red light. Generally, these two convert into one another: P_R responds to clear red light and vice versa.
Phytochrome controls several functions, including:
- The expression and repression of genes
- Gene transcription
- Leaf and stem elongation
- Germination
- Chlorophyll synthesis
- Photoperiodism
Red peak light plays a role in seed germination. It is important for a seed to germinate in a good growth environment, meaning plenty of bright light and a lower amount of red peak light. Red peak wavelengths can make your seeds or plants believe they are in a shaded environment. Too much red light could prevent the seed from germinating.
Additionally, red peak light also impacts the vegetative growth of plants. Excessive amounts of red peak light can elongate stems and stretch the leaves, as the plant tries to reach for more light. On the other hand, when properly dosed, you will notice faster plant development.
If you give too much far red light to a plant, it will think it is in a dark environment. This can be too stressful for a flowering plant; therefore, you need to be careful. However, once again, if dosed correctly, you will achieve:
- Increased trichome production
- Slightly faster maturation of your flowers
It’s all a matter of the synergy of your spectrum. The more you have a complete spectrum with good ratios, the more you will notice the benefits. So be careful not to overdo it!
