Each cartridge lasts for 6 weeks when used 24 hours a day. It is important to make sure that the wick touches the bottom of the corresponding replacement cartridge for best results. Remember, although the cartridge may last longer if you only plug it in when you need it, it will lose effectiveness. We have designed this product to be on permanently until the essential oil is consumed. Follow these directions for satisfactory results.

- Place The Neutralizer in the right place. We recommend placing it on the side opposite the air outlet, at a height from the waist down. Avoid placing the EME near the air inlet, as the temperature of the incoming air can affect the thermostat of the EME. Cold incoming air can interfere with proper evaporation.
- If the odor you are combating is very intense, you may need to use an additional EME to reinforce the neutralizing action.
