Why your plants are begging for this specific dirt
Let’s be real for a second: you can have the best genetics in the world and the most expensive lights, but if your roots are sitting in mud, you’re not going anywhere. Biobizz soil isn't just a bag of dirt; it’s a biological ecosystem waiting to be activated. We are talking about one of the most respected Dutch brands in the game, certified organic and designed specifically for those who chase flavor and quality over synthetic shortcuts.
When you choose Biobizz, you are choosing a medium that forgives small mistakes and buffers pH naturally. It’s like putting your plants on autopilot compared to inert media like Rock Wool Substrate, where every drop of water needs to be calculated perfectly. Here, the soil works with you, creating a symbiotic relationship between the roots and the microbial life. If you want that old-school, rich, organic taste, this is where it starts.
Light Mix or All Mix: Which team are you on?
This is the question that keeps new growers up at night. Don't worry, it’s simpler than it looks. It all comes down to how much control you want over the diet of your girls.
Light Mix is for the control freaks (in a good way). It has a low EC (electrical conductivity), meaning it’s lightly fertilized. This is perfect if you want to manage the liquid nutrients yourself from the second week onwards, or if you are working with delicate seedlings and cuttings that burn easily. It’s also the go-to choice for many growers planting Autoflower Seeds, as these fast ladies prefer a lighter, airier start without nutrient shock.
All Mix, on the other hand, is the heavy hitter. It’s packed with enough organic nutrients (worm castings, pre-mix) to sustain your plants for the first few weeks with just water. It’s ideal if you have a busy schedule or if you’re transplanting established plants before the flowering stretch. Just be careful not to put a tiny sprout directly into this hot soil, or you might fry it.
The secret sauce: Customizing your medium
One of the coolest things about the Biobizz range is that you can play alchemist. Maybe you find the standard soil a bit too dense for your environment? Mix in some Coco Mix to increase aeration and drainage. This helps the roots expand faster and prevents overwatering issues.
And if you want to recycle your old soil (because we love sustainability), products like Worm Humus and Pre-Mix allow you to revitalize that spent substrate. It’s a different philosophy from brands like Canna Soil, which also offers amazing quality but has its own specific feeding charts. With Biobizz, you are building a living soil web that improves with time.
Frequently Asked Questions about Biobizz Substrates
Do I need to check pH with Biobizz soil?
Generally, the organic buffer in the soil self-regulates the pH to a certain extent, keeping it in the sweet spot of 6.2–6.5. However, if your tap water is extremely hard or acidic, you should definitely measure and adjust it. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Can I use mineral nutrients with this soil?
You can, but it’s like putting cheap gas in a Ferrari. Biobizz soil is designed to work with organic nutrients (biominerals or 100% organic lines). Chemical fertilizers can kill the beneficial bacteria and fungi in the substrate, defeating the purpose of buying premium organic soil.
How long does the food in All Mix last?
Under normal conditions, All Mix has enough food for about 3 to 4 weeks of growth. After that, you will see the plants asking for more (leaves turning slightly pale), and that’s your cue to start adding liquid bloom fertilizers.
Is Pre-Mix the same as All Mix?
No! Pre-Mix is a dry fertilizer blend used to make All Mix or to recharge old soil. It is extremely concentrated. Do not plant directly into Pre-Mix unless you want to kill your plants instantly. It must be mixed with peat or coco.
