Stop Grow by Pro-XL is the strategic tool you need to take absolute control of your crop's verticality, acting as an immediate brake on growth and a powerful accelerator for the flowering phase. If you are growing indoors and space is tight, or you are dealing with genetics that stretch uncontrollably, this regulator allows you to stop the vertical development of the plant dry, forcing it to change its hormonal cycle to focus exclusively on the production of flowers.

Is your indoor garden turning into an uncontrollable jungle?

We have all been there: you flip the photoperiod, and suddenly your plants start stretching like crazy. You look at your grow tents and realize you are running out of headroom. You don't know if you should prune, bend, or raise the lights (which are already at the limit). The feeling of losing control over the size of your crop creates uncertainty and the fear that the plants will end up burning against the bulb.

If you don't act fast, the consequences are visible: apical buds burnt by excess heat, light stress that blocks development, and plants that waste vital energy creating long, weak stems instead of fattening flowers. A crop that touches the ceiling is a crop that ventilates poorly, is prone to pests, and produces less. That feeling that "the genetics got out of hand" can ruin months of work.

The solution is not to cut heads off in panic, but to use a chemical signal that tells the plant: "Stop going up and start blooming." Stop Grow is that signal. By applying this phase-based method, you will transform a potential disaster into a compact, uniform, and productive Sea of Green, without stress for you or your plants.

Phase 1: Preparing the ground

Before opening the bottle, you must analyze the situation. Stop Grow is potent, and you should only use it when the plant is healthy enough to accept the hormonal change. It is not a product for seedlings; it is for plants that are ready to bloom but are growing too tall.

  • Check the height: Ensure you actually have a space problem or that the variety is known for stretching (like Haze hybrids).
  • Check the climate: The temperature should be stable (around 24-26°C) so that the stomata are open and absorb the product well.
  • Hydration status: Do not apply if the plants are thirsty and drooping. Water them a few hours before so they are turgid.
  • Lighting: Plan the application for just when the lights go out (indoors) or at dusk (outdoors).

Phase 2: Setting up the product

Precision is key here. You are not mixing simple cannabis fertilizers; you are working with a regulator that works in very specific doses. Preparing the mixture correctly ensures effectiveness without overdosing.

  1. Shake the bottle: Vigorously shake the Stop Grow container to homogenize the components.
  2. Prepare the water: Use quality water (low EC) at room temperature (20-22°C).
  3. Exact dosage: Add 6 ml of Stop Grow for every liter of water. Use a syringe or measuring cup; do not eyeball it.
  4. Mix: Stir well until the liquid is completely diluted.
  5. Fill the sprayer: Pour the mixture into a clean hand sprayer or pressure sprayer. Ensure the nozzle is set to "fine mist."

Phase 3: Use step by step

The application technique is as important as the product itself. We want the plant to absorb it through the leaves, not the roots.

  1. Timing: Wait until the lights in your grow room have just turned off. This prevents the "magnifying glass effect" of the drops burning the leaves.
  2. First pass: Spray the plants from top to bottom.
  3. Focus on the underside: Try to direct the spray towards the underside of the leaves (where most stomata are).
  4. Do not soak the soil: The goal is to wet the plant, not the substrate. Avoid runoff falling into the pot.
  5. Observation: Let it act. You don't need to do anything else for 3 or 4 days.
  6. Second application: If after 3-4 days the growth hasn't completely stopped (common in very vigorous Sativas), repeat the process with the same dose.
  7. Stop: Usually, two applications are enough. Once you see the vertical growth stop and the first pistils appear, do not apply anymore.

Phase 4: Closing, maintenance and learnings

Once the growth has stopped, your plants will enter flowering with a compact structure. It is crucial that you clean your sprayer well with hot water to leave no residue that could affect future applications of other products (you don't want to accidentally apply Stop Grow to cuttings in the future).

Observe how the internodes have shortened. This is the perfect time to do a light defoliation if necessary, as the plant will no longer stretch to separate its branches. Note in your grow journal how many days it took to react; this data is gold for the next time you grow the same variety.

Advantages of following this flow instead of improvising

  • Total height control: You avoid the plant getting too close to the focus and burning.
  • Faster harvest: By inducing flowering earlier, you can shave a few days off the total cycle.
  • Denser stems: The energy that is not used to grow vertically is used to thicken the structure.
  • Uniformity: Helps keep the canopy (the tips of the plants) at the same level, improving light distribution.
  • Less stress for the grower: Eliminates the anxiety of "it won't fit in the tent."

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Stop Grow on autoflowering plants?

It is generally not recommended or necessary, as autos have a very short cycle and we usually want them to grow as much as possible. Using it could result in dwarf plants.

Is it compatible with other fertilizers?

Yes, Stop Grow is compatible with most nutrient ranges, but since it is applied via foliar spray, it does not interfere with what you add to the irrigation water. However, do not mix it in the same sprayer with other potent additives.

What happens if I use too much?

Excessive use can stress the plant too much, completely blocking its development or creating yellowing leaves. Stick to the 6ml/L dose and do not apply more than necessary (usually 2 times max).

Does it affect the flavor of the buds?

No, because it is applied at the very beginning of the flowering transition, long before the buds form and fatten. There is a sufficient safety period for the plant to metabolize it completely.

Personal Experience of Pevgrow’s CEO (Alan)

To be honest, I always have a bottle of Stop Grow in the cupboard for "emergencies." I usually plan my crops well, but when I try new Sativa genetics that I don't know well, sometimes they surprise me with a brutal stretch during the first weeks of 12/12. That's when I don't risk it.

My mistake at the beginning was thinking that "more is better" and I soaked the plants too much, dripping onto the substrate. I learned that a fine mist is enough. Now, I apply it strictly when the lights go out, and the result is amazing: plants that looked like they were going to be giants stay at a perfect size, filling up with buds from bottom to top. It's a lifesaver for indoor growing.
