Preparing a perfect substrate mixture is the most important thing when growing mushrooms at home. There are many special substrate types to create mycelium, but some are more effective than others.
PF TEK (Psilocybe Fanaticus Technique) has proven to be the most reliable, as it uses a substrate that ensures fast colonization, thus lowering the chances of contamination during micellar development. This technique is based on a composition of the growing substrate that mixes vermiculite with brown rice flour.

How to use Rice Flour to create Mushroom Growing Substrate
This flour comes sterilized and ready to use, you just have to put the necessary amount in a container, moisten, add vermiculite and mix to make it as homogeneous as possible.
The PF TEK uses 8.5 US fl oz. (250 ml.) glass jars and combines 5 US fl oz. (150 ml.) vermiculite with 1.7 US fl oz. (50 ml.) brown rice flour. Then add about 0.7 US fl oz. (20 ml.) of rice flour to the top of the mixture.
