The Coco Brick 650g 10L is your best ally if you want a professional, airy, and manageable medium without the hassle of transporting giant sacks. It is a compressed block of natural coconut fiber that, with just a little water, transforms into 10 liters of high-quality substrate ready to explode your root mass.

Are you tired of hauling heavy, conspicuous bags of soil up the stairs every time you start a crop?

Carrying 50-liter sacks is not only a workout you didn't ask for, but it also compromises your discretion. Furthermore, traditional soil often compacts over time, choking the roots, reducing oxygenation, and slowing down the growth of your plants, which leads to disappointing yields despite your best efforts.

The solution fits in the palm of your hand. With this compressed coco brick, you have a lightweight, discreet, and pathogen-free medium that expands to provide the perfect structure for your roots. It ensures maximum aeration and water retention, giving you total control over nutrition from day one.

Before using or growing with this product

Before you start popping seeds, you need to prepare the "terrain." Since this is an inert substrate, you are the chef who decides the menu for your plants. You won't need heavy machinery, just a bucket and good water.

  • Container: Get a bucket with a capacity of at least 12-15 liters to allow the brick to expand comfortably.
  • Water Quality: Use osmosis or distilled water to hydrate it. This ensures a neutral starting point (EC 0.0).
  • Buffering: Although many bricks come washed, it is always a good idea to add a CalMag supplement during hydration to buffer the coco and prevent it from stealing calcium from your plants later.
  • Measurement: Have your EC meters ready. Since coco doesn't have nutrients, you must measure what you add strictly.

During use or cultivation

Once the brick has turned into 10 liters of fluffy "brown gold," the magic begins. During cultivation, you will notice that the substrate dries out faster than soil; this is actually great news. The porous structure allows you to water more frequently (fertigation), which means you can feed your plants more often without fear of drowning the roots.

It is vital that you use specific cannabis fertilizers for coco or hydroponics. The sensation you will have is one of total control: if the plant asks for more food, you give it; if it has excess, you wash the roots easily. The oxygenation is superior, so prepare for explosive vegetative growth.

After: results and maintenance

When you cut your plants, you will see the difference: a root ball that occupies the entire pot, white and healthy. This translates into denser buds and a heavier harvest. The best part? You don't have to throw it away immediately.

Coco is reusable. If you remove the old roots and use enzymes, you can reuse this substrate for several cycles, saving money and effort. It is a clean material that barely leaves any residue in your indoor grow setup.

Short- and long-term advantages and benefits

  • Total Discretion: It fits in a backpack. No more neighbors looking at you suspiciously while you unload giant bags.
  • Explosive Roots: Its sponginess facilitates root development much faster than soil.
  • Water Efficiency: Retains moisture while draining excess, preventing fungi and root rot.
  • Total Control: Being inert, you decide exactly what your plant eats. No nutrient burns from "hot" soils.
  • Eco-friendly and Reusable: It is a natural byproduct that you can reuse, saving money in the long run.
  • Easy Storage: You can stack 100 liters of substrate in a closet shelf without it taking up space.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much water do I need to hydrate the brick?

Generally, about 3 to 4 liters of water are enough to hydrate the 650g brick and turn it into 10 liters of substrate. Add the water slowly and stir.

Do I need to add nutrients from the beginning?

Yes. Coconut fiber is an inert substrate, meaning it has no nutritional value. From the first watering (after hydration), you must add fertilizers suitable for the stage of the plant.

Can I mix it with soil?

Absolutely. Many growers mix 30% to 50% coco with their soil to improve sponginess, aeration, and drainage capacity.

Does it affect the pH of the water?

Coco usually has a fairly neutral pH (between 5.5 and 6.5), which is ideal for cannabis. However, you should always adjust the pH of your nutrient solution before watering.

Personal Experience of Pevgrow’s CEO (Alan)

"I've been using coco bricks for years, especially for my mother plants and when I want to set up a quick crop without complicating my life with logistics. What I do is hydrate the brick with water rich in CalMag and a root stimulator right off the bat. This 'charges' the substrate and prepares it so the cuttings take root in record time.

For me, the biggest advantage is the logistics. I can order 50 liters of substrate and receive it in a small box, without carrying weight. Plus, the control it gives you over the plant's diet is absolute; if you screw up with the fertilizer, a root flush fixes it in minutes, something impossible with soil. If you want to learn how to cultivate like a pro, coco is the next step."
