The feminized marijuana seeds Durban Dew by Dutch Passion have certain qualities that make them very interesting for both novice and expert growers, as they are very resistant and easy to grow, but have a special flavor and effect quality for growers. demanding consumers, since they do not meet every day.

What is the genetics of these feminized seeds?

This is an original cross between Durban Poison and Frisian Dew, 2 classic varieties from the Dutch Passion catalog that now join forces to offer the best of each in a single plant of exceptional category. It is a F1 hybrid with a great predominance of sativa, and thanks to that it shows great uniformity among all its individuals.

What does Durban Dew look like?

If you let it grow naturally, it ends up similar to a Christmas tree, since it stretches the nodes a lot during the growth phase and branches geometrically, so that during flowering all the branches receive a lot of light. The leaves are not as thin as those of other sativas, but the buds are quite elongated and with a higher proportion of calyxes than leaves. Some specimens can acquire dark coloration, especially in outdoor crops where the thermal difference between day and night is greater.

How do you grow these seeds indoors and outdoors?

The resistance that gives it the powerful hybrid vigor is one of its greatest virtues, so it can be grown in all types of environments without problems. In indoor cultivation, the simplest thing is to let them grow without pruning, so that they develop a good central cup with several branches surrounding it. 9 plants/m2 can be placed in 11 liter pots, with approximately 25 days of vegetative growth.

In outdoor cultivation it is not necessary to germinate too soon, since these plants can grow very large, even up to 4 meters. They can withstand cold, wind, and rain to a certain extent, but it is worth protecting them in cases of prolonged high humidity. If you plant the seeds in  40 liters with good soil, you won't have to fertilize as often, and that comes in handy for the final flavor of the marijuana.

When are Durban Dew harvested?

Normally it needs about 8 or 9 weeks of flowering in indoor cultivation, and outdoors is harvested from mid-September in the northern hemisphere, very early for a sativa. Outdoor crops in the southern hemisphere are harvested from mid-March.

How much do these seeds generally produce?

The normal thing for indoor cultivation is to get 15,8 oz per 3x3ft and 19.4 oz per 3x3ft (  between 450 and 550 grams/m2 ) with these seeds, and outdoors each plant can give 18 oz/plant and 35.3 oz/plant ( between 500 and 1000 grams ), depending on many factors such as the amount of direct sun they receive or the quality of the substrate.

How is the aroma and taste of Durban Dew?

The aroma can be described as sweet and fruity, with a very marked pungent point. The smoke is very smooth but the flavor is quite clean, bittersweetin the style of some gummy bears, with fruity undertones reminiscent of berries. To try to enhance this flavor to the maximum, we recommend growing it with organic fertilizers and washing the roots well before harvesting.

What kind of effect does this cannabis have?

Totally sativa, with a very clean psychoactivity, stimulating but without causing anxiety, very uplifting, motivating and inspiring. With moderate consumption, the physical load is barely noticeable, but if you go too far it can have a relaxing effect at physical level.
