Big Bang feminized seeds from Green House Seed Co. are your ticket to cultivating a legendary, high-yielding medical strain with rock-solid genetics and a famously balanced, calming effect.
Ever feel like your grow space is a constant battle against height restrictions and low yields? You're not alone. Many growers struggle with sativa-dominant monsters that stretch out of control or finicky plants that promise big but deliver small. This frustration wastes time, light, and nutrients, leaving you with a harvest that doesn't meet your needs. The solution is a plant built for efficiency and power. Big Bang is that solution: a compact, bushy, indica-dominant powerhouse designed to maximize your space and reward your effort with heavy, trichome-laden buds.
Preparation is key to unlocking this strain's potential. Start with a quality, well-aerated substrate like our Coco Mix to ensure excellent drainage and root health. Big Bang thrives in a controlled environment. For indoor growers, plan your space; this plant grows wider than taller, making it a prime candidate for a ScrOG (Screen of Green) setup to maximize canopy coverage.
During the vegetative stage, Big Bang exhibits vigorous, bushy growth with tight internodal spacing. It responds very well to low-stress training (LST) to open up the canopy. Keep temperatures between 22–26 °C (71.6–78.8 °F) and humidity around 60–70%. When you switch the lights to 12/12 for flowering, expect a moderate stretch. The plant will fill out with dense, compact colas that quickly become heavy with resin. Maintain humidity around 40–50% during flowering and ensure constant, gentle air movement around the buds.
After a flowering period of approximately 8–9 weeks indoors, you'll be rewarded with a substantial harvest of rock-hard, frosty nugs. The aroma is a complex blend of sweet Skunk, earthy Northern Lights, and spicy, pungent notes from El Niño, often described as having hints of floral sweetness and apple. The effect is profoundly relaxing and calming, making it a perfect evening strain. Post-harvest, a proper dry (10–14 days at 18–22 °C / 64.4–71.6 °F and 50–60% RH) and cure (2–4 weeks in jars) will refine the flavours and smooth out the smoke.
Absolutely. Its resilience to mould and pests, combined with manageable size and predictable growth pattern, makes it an excellent choice for beginners. Just stick to a simple feeding schedule.
It stays relatively short and bushy, typically wider than it is tall. With training, you can easily keep it under 1 m (3.28 ft), making it ideal for confined spaces.
The aroma is strong and complex—sweet, skunky, and earthy with spicy undertones. A carbon filter is highly recommended for indoor cultivation to manage the potent scent.
Low-Stress Training (LST) and ScrOG (Screen of Green) are highly effective. Its bushy, lateral growth habit responds perfectly to being tied down or guided through a screen to create an even canopy.
In the Northern Hemisphere, expect harvest time around the end of September. Always check trichomes with a jeweller's loupe for the perfect milky-to-amber ratio based on your desired effect.
Big Bang has been a staple in my personal garden for years, and it's one I always recommend to growers looking for reliability and a heavy-handed indica effect. I love how it practically trains itself—just a little LST early on and it becomes a perfect, flat canopy of buds. I've found it performs exceptionally well in a simple soil mix, but it truly shines in coco where you can push the nutrients a bit more during the stretch. My preferred method is a ScrOG net; it keeps the structure in check and turns a single plant into a tabletop of solid colas. The aroma during the last few weeks is intense; my whole room smells like a sweet, earthy spice shop. For feeding, I keep it straightforward: a good base nutrient during veg, then I introduce a PK booster like Green Sensation by Plagron around week 3 of flower to really pump up those already-dense buds. The smoke is smooth and deeply relaxing—perfect for shutting down after a long day. It's not the most exotic flavour on the market, but for sheer yield, ease of growth, and consistent medicinal effect, it's incredibly hard to beat. A true workhorse strain.
