The Adwa Replacement Probe is the second chance your digital meter deserves and the smartest investment for your pocket. Instead of spending money on a completely new device, this interchangeable sensor allows you to restore the factory precision of your equipment, ensuring that your pH (AD11P) or EC (AD32P) measurements are 100% reliable again. It is the heart of your measuring system, designed to withstand the humidity of the grow room and provide instant data.

Is your meter acting weird? Don't fly blind

There is nothing more frustrating for a grower than not knowing if the number on the screen is real. You dip the meter, the figure jumps up and down, it takes minutes to stabilize, or worse, it gives you a reading that makes no sense compared to yesterday. You start doubting the water, the nutrients, and even your own skills, creating a feeling of insecurity that paralyzes your decisions.

If you ignore these signs, the consequences can be fatal for your crop. A pH probe that reads 6.0 when the reality is 4.5 can lead you to block the absorption of essential nutrients. You think you are feeding your plants correctly, but they are starving or suffering from toxicity. Trying to grow with a broken sensor is like driving a car with a painted windshield: you are going to crash, it's just a matter of time.

The solution is simpler and cheaper than you think: change the probe, not the meter. With the Adwa Replacement Probe, you eliminate uncertainty in less than 2 minutes. This spare part is designed to fit perfectly into your Adwa handle, renewing the connection and sensitivity of the electrode so you can trust your measuring instruments again and sleep peacefully knowing your girls are eating well.

[Phase 1: Preparing the ground]

Before you start unscrewing things, it is vital that you identify exactly which model you have and prepare the environment. These sensors are precision instruments; a speck of dust or a bad connection can ruin the new probe before you even use it.

  • Check the model: Look at the back of your meter. If it is an AD11 or AD12, you need the pH probe (AD11P). If it is an AD31 or AD32, you need the EC probe (AD32P). They look similar, but they are not interchangeable.
  • Clean workspace: Clear a table and make sure it is dry. You don't want moisture getting into the internal contacts of the meter when you open it.
  • Prepare calibration fluids: A new probe always requires immediate calibration. Have your PH calibration solution (pH 4.01 and 7.01) or EC (12880 µS/cm) envelopes ready.
  • Batteries: If your meter has been failing, check the batteries too. Sometimes a weak battery mimics a bad probe.

[Phase 2: Setting up the product]

Changing the probe is very simple, but you must do it delicately. The pins that connect the sensor to the body of the meter are thin and can bend if you force them. Follow this logic to do it like a pro.

  1. Unscrew the ring: The Adwa has a plastic ring at the top of the probe. Unscrew it completely.
  2. Remove the old probe: Pull the old sensor down firmly but without twisting. It should come out straight.
  3. Clean the contact: If you see any salt or dirt on the meter pins (the part that stays in your hand), clean it gently with a dry cloth or a soft brush.
  4. Insert the new probe: Align the pins of the new probe with the holes in the meter. Push up carefully until it fits perfectly. Do not force it; if it doesn't enter, check the alignment.
  5. Secure the ring: Screw the plastic ring back on to ensure the seal is watertight.

[Phase 3: Use / calibration step by step]

You're not done yet. A new probe comes with factory settings, but it needs to "learn" to read with your specific device. Using it without calibrating is a rookie mistake.

  1. Turn on the meter: Press the ON/OFF button.
  2. Enter calibration mode: Press and hold the ON/OFF/MODE button until "CAL" appears on the screen.
  3. First point (pH): Dip the probe into the pH 7.01 solution. Wait for the meter to recognize it and ask for the next one.
  4. Second point (pH): Rinse the probe with water and dip it into the pH 4.01 solution. Wait for "OK" or for it to return to measurement mode.
  5. For EC: The process is identical but using the 12880 µS/cm calibration liquid.
  6. Verification: Measure your cannabis fertilizers mix. The reading should now be stable and fast.
  7. Rinse: Always wash the probe with tap water after each measurement.

[Phase 4: Closing, maintenance and learnings]

To ensure this new probe lasts you a year or more, maintenance is non-negotiable. The glass bulb of the pH probe must never dry out. If it dries, the internal electrolyte crystallizes and the probe dies.

Always leave a few drops of storage liquid (KCL) or, failing that, pH 4.01 buffer in the cap before closing the meter. Never use distilled water for storage, as it degrades the sensor chemistry. For the EC probe, simply keep it clean and dry, as it is metal and does not suffer as much from dehydration, but keeping it clean of salts is essential.

[Advantages of following this flow instead of improvising]

  • Total precision: You eliminate the "I think it's fine" factor and move to "I know it's fine".
  • Economic savings: You extend the life of your Adwa meter for a fraction of the price of a new one.
  • Plant health: By correcting the pH/EC, nutrient absorption is unlocked immediately.
  • Durability: Correct installation and maintenance can double the life of the replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I change the Adwa probe?

It depends on use and care. With intensive use and good maintenance, it usually lasts between 6 months and 1 year. If readings are slow or calibration fails constantly, it's time to change it.

Are the pH and EC probes interchangeable?

No. Although they look physically similar and fit the same thread, the internal sensor is completely different. You must buy the specific one for your meter model (AD11P for pH, AD32P for EC).

Can I touch the glass bulb with my fingers?

Avoid it as much as possible. The natural grease from your skin can create a film on the glass that interferes with the reading. If you touch it, clean it gently with water and a soft cloth.

My new probe comes with a white powder on the tip, is it broken?

No, it is normal. It is crystallized salt from the electrolyte. Simply rinse it with water and it will disappear; it does not affect the functioning at all.

Personal Experience of Pevgrow’s CEO (Alan)

I'll be honest: I've learned the hard way that probes have a limited lifespan. I remember going crazy with a crop that showed deficiencies, adding more and more fertilizer because the EC meter told me the levels were low. Spoiler: the meter was lying because the probe was dirty and old. I burned the plants.

Since then, I treat the probe like tires on a car: they are consumables. I always keep a spare Adwa replacement in the drawer. When I see the measurement taking more than 10 seconds to stabilize, I don't think twice: I change it. It's the cheapest insurance you can buy for your harvest.
