Kalashnikov Seeds Bank has just released some feminized seeds containing a THC to CBD ratio of 1:5, a treasure chest for medical cannabis users. But this plant is much more than that, as it produces a very tasty smoke and its cultivation is accessible to all types of users.
What genetics does Siberian Harlequin hide?
For the creation of this polyhybrid they used one of the elite clones most worked in our industry as a base for new CBD-rich varieties, Harlequin, which in this case was crossed with the Siberian Haze, a very powerful and productive Kalashnikov Seeds sativa.
This is one of the few seeds available on the market that combines CBD with sativa genes, so we think it has an added value. It also enjoys an outstanding hybrid vigour, which seems to exceed in many ways the parental ones in all aspects, even at therapeutic level.
What is this variety like in general?
It has a growth pattern typical of sativa hybrids, with a lot of strength from the early stages. Its structure ends up being elongated, with enough distance between knots and reaches a good height if the main tip is not pruned.
In general it is very fast, both in its development of plant mass, and in flowering and maturation, a real sprinter. Its range of aromas and its unique type of effect are other outstanding qualities.
How is Harlequin Siberian grown?
Indoors it is a good idea to put 9 plants/3x3ft (m2) in 2.9 US gal (11 litre) pots, with 3 weeks of growth and at least one FIM pruning, although if you leave them longer in vegetative growth you can do pruning to the secondary branches too.
In outdoor cultivation you will need bigger pots, but a good option is transplant to mother soil when the plant is about 1 ft. (25 or 30 cms.). As indoors, here it is better to prune too, both the main tip and the satellite branches, and make Lollipop or low pruning during pre-flowering.
When is this medicinal plant harvested?
Both its flowering period and ripening are surprisingly fast, thanks to its hybrid vigour above all. With artificial light only needs 60 days of flowering on average, and grown with the help of the sun is harvested at early October in the northern hemisphere and early April in the southern hemisphere.
How is the production of the Siberian Harlequin?
One of the highest in this seed bank, especially outdoors. In indoor cultivation you can surpass the 17.6 oz per 3x3ft (500 grams/m2) if you have experience with sativa hybrids, but even the most novice will achieve an acceptable yield with this strain.
Outdoors with many hours of direct sunshine you can turn it into a big tree, maybe not to make you a hut, but to cover all your annual consumption of natural medicine, as each Siberian Harlequin can give you up to 70.5 oz (2000 grams) of dry weed.
What does this therapeutic genetics taste and smell like?
The aroma is reminiscent of tropical fruit, especially mango and papaya. The taste is persistently fruity, sweet and a little acidic, but earthy tones appear to create a high quality smoke.
What is the effect of Siberian Harlequin?
Its ratio of THC:CBD is 1:5, with 3% THC and 15% CBD approximately, so it gets you high, but nothing to do with the typical varieties with much THC and little CBD. It gets you high a little bit, but relocate your chakras, motivates, inspires, encourages and in a way energizes, without knocking you out at all.
Users of medicinal cannabis have a real treasure with this strain, as they will be able to benefit from its analgesic, relaxing and sedative properties among others.
