Do you have experience or is it the first time you will cook with cannabis? Remember that it is an ingredient that is liposoluble, and that it is the THC that will make all the dishes have a psychotropic touch. So don’t forget that in order to be activated it is necessary that the marijuana is decarboxylated. Don’t worry, here I will show you step by step how to integrate the Italian baked eggplant.

I recommend that you don’t get too excited about the amounts of weed, consider the number of guests and whether they have already had experience tasting it with food. Remember that the effect when used in food is more intense, even if it takes a little longer to be noticeable, so it’s better to go gently

Having said that, let’s get down to business, you may have seen or tried different recipes for Italian eggplant, it’s normal that everyone puts in a little bit of their own to give it their own style. However, to prepare the best eggplant recipe, make sure you choose them well.

For a start, stay away from those that look dented or have soft spots, and choose those that glow and feel soft. It is important that when you hold them they feel heavy and that they are not too ripe.



⭐ What do we need to make the recipe?



This recipe is perfect for a dinner with friends or, if you prefer, with your partner. It’s also delicious and it comes from the traditional style, not to mention that it’s easy to make. It is a perfect excuse to get into the kitchen and experience new dishes with weed.

The amounts are intended to reach approximately 8 portions:


  • 4 medium sized eggplants (remember that we want to avoid large sized ones so as not to suffer from their bitter taste)
  • 5 tablespoons of olive oil, you can also use extra virgin oil
  • Sea salt and ground black pepper, both ingredients to your liking
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 yellow onions with a medium size, should be chopped
  • Freshly chopped basil with ¼ cup is sufficient, or two large branches
  •  ¼ cup of tomato sauce
  • You can also add chopped tomato, in this case 28 ounces (800 grams)
  • Between 1 ½ or 2 ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese depending on how much cheese you want in your recipe
  • 1 cup to 1 ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small spoonful of vinegar
  • 0.14 ounces (4 grams) of cannabis, it must be well ground, it is important that it is without a single stem. To make sure that you have crushed it well you can use a grinder.

Extra ingredients: if you want it stuffed you can include Italian sausages to taste, without exceeding, and sliced mushrooms.



⛳ How to prepare it step by step


Step 1. Prepare your eggplants by cutting them vertically, this way you will have long pieces that are not too thick.

Bake them for about 25 minutes, previously heating the oven to approximately 200 Celsius degrees for about 5 minutes. Before putting them in the oven, add a little olive oil and salt and pepper to season them. Turn the eggplant over so that it browns evenly in the middle of the process. Take them out of the oven and leave them ready.


Step 2. You will make the tomato sauce on the side, use a medium sized container, making sure all the ingredients can be easily stirred. Add two tablespoons of olive oil to the pan, when hot add the onion along with a bit of salt, you can also put pepper and garlic.

The goal is to fry the ingredients, here you can add the sausages, if you decide to introduce this element you will have to wait about 8 minutes more so that they are ready. Then proceed to put the mushrooms in the pan, stir them until they become small, this will take a couple of minutes more. Remember that this is optional, you can skip this step if you are not a sausage lover.


Step 3. Then put the tomato sauce, also add the tomato pieces, and stir well so that everything is mixed. Change to a low heat until it boils. When this happens, lower the flame again until the sauce thickens a little more. This can take about 15 minutes. Finish seasoning the sauce, add salt, whatever you consider necessary, basil and a little bit of vinegar.


Step 4. Bring to the stage the container where you will put all the mixture, the first thing you will do is put the sauce, you can put half or ¾, depending on the amount you want. Once the first layer has been placed, it is the turn of the eggplants to be placed in a uniform position. Also put ¼ mozzarella cheese.

Now it is the turn of the secret ingredient, which will make the dish shine, cannabis. The well crushed cannabis must also be placed in a uniform way, make sure that it is well sprinkled in each corner on the cheese, the eggplants and the sauce. Finish seasoning with a little salt and if you want you can add a little more pepper.

Put another layer of eggplants and cover them with the remaining sauce and mozzarella cheese. Put the Parmesan cheese on top.


Step 5. The oven is already hot so all you have to do is put the ingredients in and in about 30 minutes they will be baked. Some people prefer to cover the recipient with aluminum foil but others do not recommend it. I’ll leave it up to you.

Once this time has elapsed, remove it from the oven and decorate it with more basil. It will be ready to be served and enjoyed.
