The aromatic chervil seeds (anthriscus cerefolium) have arrived at Pevgrow, also known as cerefolio, French parsley or prifolium.
This herbaceous plant grows between 40 to 70 cm high., it has thin, hollow stems with striae, the leaves can be curled and show small white flowers.
It is used in gastronomy essentially to replace parsley, although it is given diuretic and tonic properties and is used as an aperitif.
It is also associated with aphrodisiac powers, helps relieve gas and has an expectorant function.
To sow it requires moist and well-drained soils, make sure that they are rich in organic matter and that they maintain a pH between 6 and 7.
You can sow in pots or directly to the ground, maintaining separation spaces between each line of orchard between 25 and 40 cm.
Do not expose the plant to direct sun, it can grow under semi-shade and thus prevent its leaves from being burned by the action of the sun's rays.
Irrigation must be constant, especially in warm areas, without overusing it as aphids may appear, although in general it is a plant that resists pests.
When this herbaceous plant reaches 10 cm you can start to take advantage of its leaves, you can tie in bunches and store for up to 2 months in ventilated places.
