Entomite-M is presented in a cardboard tube, containing between 10,000 or 50,000 mites (Tyrophagus putrescentiae) which will be responsible for killing eggs, larvae and pupae of Fungus Gnats, as well as pupae of thrips.
How does Entomite-M work?
Tyrophagus putrescentiae feed on larvae, pupae and eggs of Fungus Gnats and other soil insects, in fact, you will be able to see mites at the base of the stem and through the soil. Its effectiveness is slow, but rather progressive and decisive.
How to use Entomite-M?
1- The first thing is to shake the bottle containing the mites very carefully, a couple of gentle movements from one side to the other will be enough.
2- Then spread the product on the ground or directly on the rock wool blocks if that is what you have used. Important, do not apply Entomite-M in the planting hole, as mites can damage the plant, especially if your plantation is in a very humid climate.
3- I advise you to carry out a test on a small area of your crop to check how they behave and how your plants react.
What are the optimal conditions for the correct operation of Entomite-M?
The soil of the crop must be wet, but not too much, being also rich in organic matter and with an open structure, allowing good ventilation. The minimum temperature for Entomite-M to work properly is 59 ºF.
How is Entomite-M preserved?
It is very important that you apply Entomite-M as soon as you receive it, as the life cycle of these organisms is very short and you may suffer a severe loss of quality and efficiency if you do not do it. You can keep it maximum between 24 and 48 hours, in a cool and dry, with a temperature between 50 and 59 ºF (10-15 º C),totally dark and with the bottle always in vertical. The effectiveness of the product depends on these considerations.
