BSF Seeds is specializing in combining the best European genetics with the best American ones. On this occasion we are surprised with this SFV 1, a variety that stands out for the quality of its effect and its impressive taste, with a pedigree difficult to beat, a guarantee that ensures its quality.
How is SFV 1 feminized?
It is a plant very easy to grow, you do not need a lot of experience in cultivation to obtain first quality buds. Its strength and vigour allows it to withstand certain types of stress that in other varieties can cause more problems.
Its structure reminds us of balanced hybrids, with trunk and branches of good size, very close knots and large leaves of a very dark green. In flowering almost doubles its size, and forms hard, diamond-shiny buds, which end up totally frosted by its immense amount of resin.
What is the genetics behind this plant?
Its mother is the "San Fernando Valley OG Kush" the elite clone most used to create OG seeds. Its father is a Skunk Strain selected in Holland during the 80's, one of the plants that changed the landscape of Amsterdam at that time, with a great dominance of the Afghan part. The offspring is quite stable, with features of both parents, which merge perfectly.
How is SFV 1 grown indoors and outdoors?
We prefer its indoor cultivation by putting 16 plants per 3x3ft (m2) in 1.8 US gal (7 liters) pots and leaving them as they are, without pruning, with 3 weeks of growth. We recommend adding Mycoterra's Quimera to the substrate to favour the development of the root system, and when changing the photoperiod to flowering it is better to make defoliation of some of the bigger leaves that shade buds of the lower parts.
Outdoors, you should germinate the seeds in early spring and transplant them to the mother soil if you want to get the maximum yield. In this case it is better to prune for various reasons, a better distribution of light is achieved and above all better aeration, which is essential to avoid possible attack by fungi.
When does this polyhybrid crop arrive?
In indoor cultivation only needs 8 weeks of flowering to be ready for cutting, in fact if you let it mature much more the effect can change. Outdoors or in greenhouses your crop reaches early October in the northern hemisphere, and early April if you grow it outdoors in the southern hemisphere.
During the ripening process you can enjoy an authentic spectacle of colors that appear in some phenotypes, from purple to some almost black.
How much do SFV 1 seeds produce in general?
Bud production is medium/high, reaching up to 15.8 oz per 3x3ft (450 grams/m2) in indoor cultivation. Each SFV 1 outdoors can give you more than 17.6 oz (500 grams) of dry flowers, but as long as they germinate early and there are no limiting factors.
The resin production is outstanding, as all the descendants of the Kush varieties, as well as the terpenes and flavonoids, both in quantity and quality.
What aromas and flavors can be found?
The aroma is one of those to fall in love with, very sweet, it seems like a sweet treat, but be careful because it is very powerful, as some poisonous plants that seem to warn from the distance of the danger they involve.
The taste is quite similar to the perfume it gives off, really sweet, with earthy tones and an acidic point, like some berries, but with an intensity that makes it remain in your mouth until minutes after smoking.
What is the effect of SFV 1?
Surprisingly it's very euphoric, almost like a pure sativa in the beginning, the kind that cheers you up. The mental stimulation persists in time, and body load is added slowly, ending with a great physical relaxation while the brain continues to work at full speed.
