Caramelo feminized seeds by Delicious Seeds are a 70% Sativa-dominant powerhouse that delivers up to 24.2% THC and an unforgettable sweet lavender flavor. Born from a spectacular cross of two Lavender phenotypes, this strain offers explosive vegetative growth and a fast-acting euphoric high that will elevate your senses.

When growing a vigorous Sativa-dominant hybrid with complex genetics like Hawaiian, Afghan, Colombian, and Mexican roots, it is completely normal to worry about the plant stretching out of control or not maximizing its heavy-yielding potential.

This fear of messing things up often leads growers to avoid pruning or training, leaving the plant to grow wild. As a result, you might end up with an unmanageable canopy, airy lower buds, and a harvest that falls short of the 500 g/m² (1.64 oz/ft²) it can truly deliver.

Caramelo is actually the perfect tool to learn advanced training techniques because it responds incredibly well to pruning and recovers fast. By treating this grow as a hands-on learning experience, you will quickly master canopy control and unlock the massive, resin-coated colas this strain is famous for.

What you can expect the first few times

When you first germinate Caramelo, you might mistake it for an Indica due to its initial compact growth. However, once it establishes its root system, its Sativa heritage kicks in with explosive vigor and rapid lateral branching.

During the transition to flowering, expect a significant stretch. It is completely normal for the plant to double in size, which is why early training is highly recommended.

As the buds develop, you will notice an intense floral aroma filling your grow room. Pay attention to the subtle notes of musk, licorice, and lavender; this complex terpene profile is a great indicator that your environmental conditions are dialed in perfectly.

Typical mistakes and how to avoid or fix them

  • Letting it grow too tall indoors: Switch to a 12/12 light cycle earlier than usual to control its vigorous Sativa stretch.
  • Skipping pruning techniques: Don't be afraid to top or FIM; this strain thrives when pruned and multiplies its colas.
  • Ignoring odor control: The skunky, floral aroma is extremely pungent; always use a high-quality carbon filter during flowering.
  • Overfeeding nitrogen in late veg: Ease up on nitrogen as it transitions to bloom to avoid nutrient burn and encourage bud sites.
  • Harvesting too early: Wait the full 60 days of flowering to ensure the trichomes reach peak THC levels (up to 24.2%).
  • Planting too close outdoors: Give each plant plenty of space; they can reach over 1.50 m (4.92 ft) and yield up to 900 g (31.75 oz).

How to fine-tune until you find your perfect sweet spot

  1. Start with a simple SCROG setup to manage the canopy and ensure even light distribution.
  2. Adjust your vegetative time based on your vertical space; shorter veg times work best for low ceilings.
  3. Monitor the plant's response to your first topping, taking mental notes on how fast the secondary branches catch up.
  4. Gradually increase your EC during the peak flowering weeks, watching the leaf tips for any signs of nutrient stress.
  5. Experiment with defoliation in the lower third of the plant to improve airflow and direct energy to the top buds.
  6. Harvest a small branch at day 55 and another at day 63 to compare the euphoric versus relaxing effects.

Advantages and benefits of treating it as a learning process

  • More control over your canopy: Mastering SCROG with this strain translates to better yields in all future Sativa grows.
  • Greater confidence in pruning: Seeing how fast Caramelo recovers will eliminate your fear of high-stress training.
  • Maximized yields: Properly trained plants can easily hit the 500 g/m² (1.64 oz/ft²) mark indoors.
  • A deeper understanding of terpenes: Dialing in your temperatures will bring out the rich walnut, lavender, and sweet fruit flavors.
  • Less frustration: Knowing that its explosive stretch is normal helps you plan ahead rather than panic.

Stages and monitoring of Caramelo

Quick overview: Feminized photo · Delicious Seeds · 60 days bloom · ideal for SCROG and warm climates.

  • Anticipate a fast-acting euphoric high and sweet lavender flavor.
  • Choose this strain to master canopy control and pruning.
  • Plan your space for yields up to 500 g/m² (1.64 oz/ft²) indoors.

Safe start: Germinate at 22–25 °C and transplant once the radicle is strong.

  • Keep humidity high during the seedling stage.
  • Use BioBizz Root Juice for explosive root development.
  • Avoid overwatering; let the substrate dry slightly between waterings.

Directed growth: Keep an 18/6 cycle and prepare for vigorous Sativa branching.

  • Top early to encourage multiple main colas.
  • Weave branches through a SCROG net to manage height.
  • Feed with Impact Grow A+B Grotek to support rapid vegetative growth.

Efficient flowering: Switch to 12/12 and maintain RH at 40–50%.

  • Install a carbon filter; the floral aroma is extremely pungent.
  • Defoliate the lower third to improve airflow.
  • Add Sugar Candy Syrup B.A.C during peak bloom for sweeter, denser buds.

Harvest and refinement: Flush 10 days before the 60-day mark.

  • Harvest when trichomes are mostly milky for an energetic high.
  • Dry slowly at 18–22 °C to preserve the delicate lavender terpenes.
  • Cure for at least 3 weeks to bring out the skunky walnut notes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to really master growing Caramelo?

Because of its vigorous Sativa stretch, it usually takes one or two cycles to perfectly dial in the vegetative time and SCROG net height for your specific indoor space.

How do I know if I am pruning it correctly?

Caramelo reacts rapidly to pruning. If you top the main stem and see the secondary branches shooting up vigorously within a few days, you are on the right track.

What should I do if the plant gets too tall indoors?

If it stretches too much, you can gently bend and tie down the tallest branches (Low Stress Training) or weave them horizontally through a trellis net to keep an even canopy.

Personal Experience of Pevgrow’s CEO (Alan)

My own learning curve with Caramelo was quite an adventure. The first time I grew it, I underestimated its Sativa genetics because it looked so compact during the first few weeks. I let it veg for too long, and once I flipped it to 12/12, it completely took over my grow tent, forcing me to do some emergency super-cropping.

The mistake I made at the beginning was treating it like a standard Indica hybrid. The small change that made the biggest difference was switching to a SCROG setup and flipping to flower much earlier. Once I started weaving those vigorous branches through the net, the yield exploded, and I was finally able to fully appreciate its massive, resin-coated colas and that incredible sweet lavender aroma without fighting the canopy.

From germination to harvest it was a great experience to experience the smells that surrounded the house and the high and taste it left in one. The best were a stable and funny state at the same time and then that hunger slump that you want to devour everything in your path. In general an excellent plant

I grew it by tying up the tips to give light to the low branches at the beginning but it was a matter of experience with my second plant (critikal +) it was less complicated and I already had in harmony the hours of light and the subject of water.

caramelo is a productive plant and with a very rich flavor, hard buds sometimes can have problems of mold if your climate is humid, eat well enough and indoors is brutal especially for growing in sog, you will get about gram per watt if you walk ready with the food, by the way resin is well loaded, the buzz is loose for my taste but makes up for it with its flavor.
I recommend you to plant it indoors in sog, a greeting.

Indoor cultivation, I do apical pruning and I reproduce it up to eight tips, no more, I prefer less dense buds. Also, I remove the rameria from below and large leaves from below. I use guano, peat, river hangover, perlite and humus to prepare the substrate. After ten days I start to fertilize with rooting agent. It's exquisite to know what caramel is left in my mouth, dense smoke. greetings!

Plant difficult to raise because you can not strain with liquids but outdoors I throw 600 grams of pure quality in every way. It's better to have a lot of water than to put product in it so that it grows strong and doesn't kill that good taste it has. I appreciate this taste very much personally and I am a yerba sybarite.
